Mizuho OSI is looking for a Sales Intern with a passion for developing, enhancing, and maintaining our rapidly expanding suite of robotic patient positioning tables and accessories. This position will report to the Manager, Education Services in Union City, California during the 8-week training program through "graduation" and until a territory is assigned. Training includes a commitment to "home study", classroom participation and in-service learning.
The Sales Intern is responsible for the sales support of Mizuho OSI products and services to hospitals, clinics and physicians in a number of short-term assigned geographic territories; meeting individual and department goals and objectives as defined by management. This position learns as an "intern" while receiving on-the job training with the intent of becoming a Sales Representative assigned to a particular territory in the United States as the needs of the business dictate.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Understand, support and follow the Corporate Vision, Mission & Values Statements.
Support company goals and objectives.
Understand, follow and support Mizuho OSI's internal Quality System policies, procedures and work instructions including but not limited to applicable external regulations (21 Code of Federal Regulations Part 820 Quality System Regulations and applicable International Standards).
While in training, will conduct field visits with Sales Representatives to gain more knowledge and exposure to the company's business.
Develop professional relationships within the Sales organization and across functional areas of the business (Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Operations, Customer Resources Group...) to receive maximum exposure to the company's core businesses, technologies and leaders.
Develop a high-level of technical expertise in all assigned products and technical topics.
Develop sales skills by working closely with more experienced Sales professionals to become business leaders within the sales organization.
Assist in the implementation of sales training, conducting customer education activities; perform marketing projects as dictated by the business unit's leader and in accordance with the company's goals and objectives. Assignments are determined based on the needs of the organization and with approval from the Manager, Education Services.
Maintain up-to-date field guides and other records in accordance with management instructions.
Assist in the development of electronic resources including but not limited to: resource library, critical documents, quick references manuals/lists and other records as necessary.
Assist the sales force with questions or issues that may come up with regards to product or customer relations ensuring action items are addressed and followed up on accordingly.
Provide and maintain a portable computer in order to conduct business. Provide an operable vehicle and maintain personal vehicle insurance at the level required by the company in order to conduct business.

Ability to effectively make formal and informal product presentations to individuals as well as to large groups, including physicians, RNs and other OR staff.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
Computer literate with a thorough familiarity of MS Office Suite.
Ability to function in an operating room environment and attend surgical procedures as necessary.
Ability to effectively and independently manage time and territory.
Ability to travel about 50 - 75%.
Ability to relocate anywhere in the U.S. once a specific Sales territory is assigned.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to set up or in-service a table. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently push or move up to 150 pounds to uncrate and relocate a table. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and far vision, color vision.

Job duties are performed in a hospital Operating Room requiring adherence to the hospitals gowning and sterility protocols, and using mechanical parts and tables. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
